Tristan Roake and Andre Fernandez, better known as Truth are a dubstep production duo from Christchurch, New Zealand. They first rose to prominence in 2008 when Mala of Digital Mystikz signed their debut single The Fatman / Stolen Children for his Deep Medi Musik label. The single was described by Boomkat as “dark and immaculately executed” and was released in early 2009 as Medi13x on 12″ vinyl format.
Sonic architects of songs with an emotional heft as heavy as the subwoofer rupturing basslines that underpin their work, Truth are one of New Zealand’s finest creative exports. Respected across the globe, since inception several years ago, Truth (Andre Fernandez and Tristan Roake) have, as both world-class producers and party-rocking DJs, cut a clear pathway through the international dubstep scene.
Through keynote DJ support, they have been rewarded with single releases via Deep Medi Muzik, Aquatic Lab, Disfigured Dubz, Argon and Boka Records. Through these, including critically ‘The Fatman’ (as released via Deep Medi Muzik) and their acclaimed Aquatic Lab released album Puppets, Truth have seen their stock rise, placing them as in-demand remixers and collaborators to The Nextmen, Miss Dynamite, Shapeshifter, The Black Seeds, Optimus Gryme, Silkie, Kromestar, Tunndige and countless figures of note within the international dubstep community.

AxH (formerly Grizzly) has been dedicated to bass music and DJ-ing for over a decade. Based in Boston, MA, AxH got his start as Prodigal Son, producing Ragga Jungle that received praise and plays all over the world. He has been releasing music digitally and on wax since 2004, and has played coast to coast in North America, supporting his releases. 2008 saw AxH perform in Kiev, Ukraine, a set that people are still talking about. He has become a prolific producer as he’s honed his deep, dark, and heavy style. His début Dubstep album is due out on Brooklyn based TUBA Records this autumn. AxH is one of the residents for BASSIC Boston; Boston’s premier Dubstep night where he can be heard dropping entire sets of his original tracks. You can also hear him on BASSIC’s Sub.FM show every Saturday night.
The one like Codiac moved to Boston in 2003 and started spinning vinyl in ’08. Originally rooted in Electro and Tech House, Codiac shifted to Dubstep and is now embedded deep in the Boston underground bass scene. He’s DJ’d and blogged w/ the Boston/Berlin-based DrinkMusik camp, manages sponsorship for the Together Festival and currently helps run SUBduction Productions. Featured at most of Boston’s underground music nights including Music Ecology, BASSIC, Dubwise, Left Turn, the Together Festival, Funktion, The Drop, Bass Embassy, Bass Oasis, Bang! and SUBduction’s own events at Enormous Room, Codiac has also performed at other parties at Tufts, RISE, Savant Project, Wonder Bar, Redline, Great Scott, Phoenix Landing, Milky Way, Middle East, Privus, SPACE Loft, NYC warehouses and many a’house party in the Bean.
