We’re back with our second JASS monthly at the Phoenix Landing. Those who attended our debut night August 16 will tell you it was a record breaking night for both ElecSonic and the Boston scene, and on September 20 we’re making it even bigger and better.
-In from Brooklyn we have the Astro Nautico collective, consisting of artists Kuhn, Obey City, and Paolo – these guys run their own label and blog (http://astronautico.com/) with their own releases and acclaimed guest mix ASTROCASTS (last month’s Howse and Time Wharp have both contributed), and they have been seen popping up for live and DJ sets around NYC and beyond. They’ve quickly become well-known for their eclectic mix of styles, ranging from abstract ambient beats to soulful sampling to 90s-house-inspired madness and incredible live remixes – and we’re bringing all 3 of them to Boston for a tag-team live set sure blow your mind. Astro Nautico member and general troublemaker Obey City recently dropped his debut MELTED MAGIC EP on their label, and if that wasn’t enough, last month’s JASS headliner Howse’s ‘Trakz’ EP drops on Astro Nautico September 9. -We are also excited to announce we will have Boston’s very own BLUM performing his second-ever live electronic set, serving up a healthy dose of jazz and live-strings-infused beats with his signature swagger. Expect your body to move and your ears to groove to his beautiful arrangements. His incredible debut ‘First Blum’ features Kelton Blackshear and Sonnymoon’s Anna Wise both guesting on vocals.
