Glitch Mob at Middle East Show Review

Little late on this but what the hell. Last Wednesday Boston was graced with our first ever performance from Glitch masters The Glitch Mob and I must admit it was indeed one hell of a show. Although I missed Free The Robots, Deru provided a very solid opening with a one man Ableton driven beat flurry that got the crowd moving.

The Mob definitely brought the majority of the energy during the night however as they brought a their new instrument driven approach that many have noted to be very far removed from their old ’4 laptops in a row’ setup. The band themselves seemed incredibly fired up as they repeated that this was in fact EdIT’s home town and his folks were there to see their very first Glitch Mob performance.

Interesting side note: on The Mob’s website they mention an appreciating of the basement style venue, only complaining slightly about the immense heat that forced one of their computers to crash. Luckily they said though that the crash happened on beat!

Thanks to my friend Brian Mason for the heady pics and vids. Enjoy!
