Vocal dubstep rarely sticks with me like this. A beautifully sample chorus combines chorused vocals with computer bleep scales. My only reservation is somewhat quiet bass, although when mixed with a bassy, minimal track the production of this will shine through even more.
Miike Snow - Silvia (Emalkay Dubstep Remix)To put things more in context, Emalkay has some tracks 2+ years old still being swapped and dropped. “When I look at you” dropped late 2009 and has a spooky feel with screeching sirens that slide from one octave to the next.
Emalkay - When I Look At You“My Story” is approaching 2 years of age, and has a classic dub feel with a bouncy upeat and some electric piano chucks. Pay close attention to the piano combined with the pitched wobbles, they form harmonies beyond simple minor chords and make the song have the essence of rock or reggae. The drums are down to earth and bouncy with ample cymbals and chimes.
