I must admit I’ve been sitting on this one for quite awhile. But it’s time to let the cat out of the bag. Almost a complete unknown on the east side of things, Egadz! has been making some of the most beautiful IDM/Downtempo beats I have ever head for quite a few years now. I first came to hear of him by way of his ‘Sad Music Makes Me Happy’ LP, which a couple of years ago was just about all I listened to for a straight month. Since then he has put out quite a number of EP’s, all of which being quite impressive in their own right. Oh and did I mention this guy can play the shit out of an MPC? Recently, Egadz! it seems has grown tired of his old alias/style and has decided to try something different, reinventing himself under a new alias ‘Matterhorn’. He has since released the first LP from his new project entitled ‘Death Stare’. It promises to deliver even more awe inspiring beats. Note the actual song version of ‘What We Are Destined To Do’ is a big improvement in my opinion over the all MPC version, which is basically meant to show off his MPC skills (of which he has ungodly amounts of).
